Originally built by a small community of Welsh immigrants working at the nearby Bay View Rolling Mill, this 1,800 sq ft space eventually fell into disuse. We worked exhaustively to rediscover original details while at the same time creating a modern and functional living space.
Famed for his design of the Pabst Mansion, Milwaukee architect Alexander C. Eschweiler left an indelible mark on his native city. Working closely with the client we engaged a transitional design blending contemporary turn of the century details with a contemporary vision.
FORM was selected to assist James Beard nominated Chef Karen Bell in the design of her acclaimed Milwaukee restaurant’s new location. It was vital to honor the spirit of the original space while incorporating an expanded retail space, butcher shop and open concept kitchen.
Set underneath the famed Allen-Bradley Clock Tower, this Walker’s Point Cottage sits far back back on an urban lot giving it a cottage retreat like feel. The design heavily reflects the owner’s art collection and cherished mementos collected while abroad.
